OUR VISION

To work on how to protect your general and specific qualifications and data, in a society where social interaction and data transfer is effective.
To ensure the best possible bilateral relations between data owners and data controllers through the process of their, cooperation, solidarity and protection of your personal data and ensuring their responsibilities towards each other.
To conduct the necessary investigations and contributing to the complaint process for data controllers who process personal data in violation of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data.
To raise awareness of personal data owners and data controllers on the protection of the personal rights contained in the European Convention on Human Rights and the right to request the protection of personal data specified in Article 20 of the Turkish Constitution, and to raise awareness in order to ensure the protection of personal data in accordance with the law.

 

 

 

 

OUR MISSION


It is our primary mission to bring together the specialists of the Association to help fulfil the obligations of the data controllers in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data and the GDPR process and to ensure that the data of the personal data owners are processed in accordance with the legislation and to ensure data security.

 

 

INTERNATIONAL PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION ASSOCIATION REGULATIONS
Name of the Association: Article 1. The name of the association is as follows; “International Personal Data Protection Association.”
Headquarters of the Association: Article 2. The headquarters of the association is in Istanbul. The Association may open branches and representative offices where deemed necessary by the decision of the General Assembly.
The Purpose of the Association and the Field of Activity to be Maintained by the Association in Order to Realize this Purpose Article 3. The Associations purposes are;

  • To raise awareness of the right holders about the importance of personal data protection and how and for what purpose this data can be processed within the scope of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation),

  • To raise awareness of personal data owners and data controllers on the protection of the personal rights contained in the European Convention on Human Rights and the right to request the protection of personal data specified in Article 20 of the Turkish Constitution, and to raise awareness in order to ensure the protection of personal data in accordance with the law,

  • To help develop mechanisms to ensure the protection of personal data effectively,

  • To prevent the occurrence of material and moral damages and to eliminate these damages, in particular to prevent the occurrence of discrimination and grievances arising from sharing personal data with third parties and to assist the elimination of damages,

  • To help supervise the activities of Data Controllers who process personal data in violation of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation),

  • Preventing illegal transfer of personal data abroad,

  • In order to prevent arbitrary processing of personal data, ensuring that those who are responsible for data processing are in accordance with the principles outlined in the Personal Data Protection Act. In this sense, to carry out activities that will ensure that personal data are processed for clear, certain and legitimate reasons and they are processed in a limited and measured manner.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY

All persons who are members of the Association are members of the General Assembly. At the General Assembly, association activities, opinions and activities related to the national economy are discussed, an evaluation of the previous year is made, and the general framework of the annual budget is determined with the work program of the following year. The General Assembly also holds elections for the bodies of the Association.

 

SUPERVISORY BOARD
It is a committee consisting of three members to be elected from among the principle members of the General Assembly for one year each year. The Supervisory Board is obliged to supervise and examine the financial activities of the Association, and to report the examinations.

DISCIPLINARY BOARD
It is a committee consisting of three principle and three alternate members to be elected by the General Assembly from among the full members each year. Members who are found to not be compliant with the statue, principles and works of the Association and who are detrimental to the reputation and dignity of the Association shall be notified to the Disciplinary Board in writing by the Board of Directors of the Association. The Disciplinary Board as a committee discusses and decides the status of the members referred to them by the Board of Directors.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board of Directors is the most authoritative body of the UKVKD, elected by the General Assembly and correspondingly to it, determines, decides and manages the activities and policies of the Association. The chairman is composed of the principle member and the general secretary.

HIGH ADVISORY BOARD

  • Evaluates the strategies to be prepared and makes recommendations in order to reach the objectives of the Association in the most appropriately,

  • Examines the activities of the Association in terms of compliance with the objectives and the effectiveness of the results and recommends the necessary measures.

     

COMMITTEES/COMMISSIONS
Following each General Assembly, these are the units established by the Headquarters Board of Directors to carry out activities related to the projects and activities planned by the Association in accordance with the relevant legislation and the statues of the Association.  

GENERAL SECRETARIAT

The General Secretariat is the executive body which performs the implementation and follow-up of the activities determined by the Board of Directors and works under the Board of Directors. It is composed of professionals lead by a general secretary and their assistants. It fulfils the following duties and responsibilities;

  • Representing the Association and executing the decisions taken within the framework of the authority given by the Board of Directors.

  • Ensuring coordination between the commissions of the Board of Directors and professional committees.

  • As head of organization, ensuring that all service obligation of the Association is fulfilled in accordance with the programs and legislation.

  • Ensuring planning, supervision and coordination between the departments of the General Secretariat; where necessary intervening, directing and informing.

  • Ensuring the development and spread of the culture and identity of the institution.

  • Preparing or having periodic programs related to the affairs of the Association.

SECRETARIAT
The decisions and practices taken by the Board of Directors of UKVKD are followed and implemented by a professional staff lead by a general secretary and their assistants.
